Privacy Policy

Streak Quest ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Streak Quest Ltd. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Streak Quest app, how we use it, and your rights over it.
What we collect
- Account information: your email address and a username you choose. If you sign in with Apple, we receive an identifier from Apple and the email address you choose to share — including a private relay address if you use Hide My Email.
- What you're working on: the habit you've chosen to quit. This is the most sensitive thing we hold. It is private to your account and is never shown to other users.
- Activity data: your streak history, including when a streak starts and ends, daily check-ins, quests, achievements, items, and challenge participation.
- Journal entries: encrypted on your device before they are sent to us. We cannot read them. The mood you attach to an entry is stored unencrypted.
- Social data: who you follow and who follows you.
- Device information: device type, OS version, app version, your time zone, and — if you enable notifications — a push notification token.
How we use it
- To provide and maintain the Streak Quest service.
- To display your progress and connect you with challenge participants.
- To send the notifications you've opted into. You can turn these off in the app.
- To contact you about your account if necessary.
What we don't do
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising or share it with ad networks. We do not use your activity data to build profiles for third parties.
Who processes your data
We use a small number of providers to run the service, each under a data processing agreement:
- Supabase — database and authentication.
- Amazon Web Services — our application servers, hosted in the UK (London).
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, and delivery of push notifications.
- Vercel — this website. It does not receive your account data.
Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account the deletion is immediate and permanent — not a scheduled or soft delete. Backups may retain residual copies for a short period before rotating out.
Your rights
- Deletion: you can delete your account and all associated data yourself, at any time, from Settings → Account → Delete Account in the app. If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke the app's access to your Apple ID.
- Access: you can request a copy of the data we hold about you. Note that we cannot provide readable journal entries, because they are encrypted with a key only your device holds.
- Correction: you can request correction of your account details.
- Complaints: if you are in the UK or EU you can complain to your data protection authority. In the UK this is the Information Commissioner's Office.

Children
Streak Quest is not directed at children under 17. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 17.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
